The Ideal Walk of the Bible Believing Christian

Does it feel like you have no clue how you are supposed to walk as a Bible believing Christian? Have you been wondering what the Lord says about the way you are living? Well good news! That’s what the Lord is wanting me to talk about with you.

What NOT to Do:

  • Don’t grumble and complain under your breath. Philippians 2:14 KJB. I know it’s hard sometimes when you don’t want to do something or you think you don’t have time. Or if you are feeling overwhelmed and you are trying to focus on something but you just can’t seem to get it done.
The Ideal Walk of the Bible Believing Christian
  • Don’t argue. Philippians 2:3 KJB. You don’t have to be right all the time. That’s what arguing is. You are trying to prove you are right instead of either agreeing to disagree or leaving it alone. You can learn so much more from people if you just listen to their side instead of only hearing yourself.
  • Don’t be prideful. Proverbs 16:18 KJB. There are so many things God has brought to my attention about pride. Pride has gotten me into a lot of trouble over the years and it still does some times. It’s something I have to pray against all the time. Or pray for forgiveness. It’s prideful to only be thinking of yourself and how something is making you feel. It’s prideful to get upset because someone isn’t talking to you the way you want to be spoken to. Yes. That one gets me too.
  • Don’t show off your body or dress to impress others. 1Timothy 2:9 KJB. This verse is not saying you can’t dress up or look nice. It’s saying to be modest and cover yourself. What’s under your clothes should not be for anyone to see but your spouse or future spouse.
  • Don’t talk foolishly. Ephesians 5:4. This is any speech that is unproductive or harmful to others. This means curse words or vulgar jokes or remarks. Don’t gossip. If someone is coming to you talking about someone else, you say, “Did you talk to them about it?”
  • Don’t drink alcohol. Ephesians 5:18 KJB. The Holy Spirit ain’t anywhere near alcohol. If you are drinking, pour that filthy stuff out and get right with the Lord. There is no drinking in moderation. The Bible does not say you can drink in moderation.

Well now you might be asking me, “That’s a lot of don’t dos. What in the world can I do then?” More good news. Here it is!

Reading your Bible

What to Do:

  • REJOICE! Isaiah 41:16 KJB. Rejoice and be glad! The Lord has saved your soul from Hell and you are going to Heaven when you die! That is fantastic news and we have no reason to be cranky. Yes, I don’t know your situation and I am sure everyone is going through something that is hard in the moment. But this world is not our home and God is SO GOOD!
  • Speak wisely. James 1:26 KJB
  • Give thanks. Ephesians 5:20 KJB. If you are always thanking the Lord for what you have and what He has done in your life, you won’t have room for ungratefulness or complaining.
  • Submit yourself. James 4:7 KJB. Ephesians 5:21 KJB. We are not only called to submit to the Lord, we also need to submit to each other. That means being humble, kind, and serving one another how Jesus was a servant unto men for the Lord.
  • PRAY. PRAY. PRAY. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 KJB. This is a very common verse that’s used a lot, and for good reason. Without ceasing means always praying, never stopping. I understand we have busy lives and God understands too. But, as much as we possibly can, we need to be talking to the Lord. It doesn’t matter how small or big, talk to the one who understands it all. In the good, bad, and in-between times!
  • Stay read up! Joshua 1:8 KJB. We can’t walk right with the Lord if we aren’t reading and applying His words He gave us to follow. It says we are to meditate day and night so that we can do according to all that is written in it. It’s easier to follow the Lord if we are reading His manual for our lives. The Bible. It’s also harder for us to be deceived by false prophets and false doctrine.

There are so many things the Lord instructs us on in His infallible word. If you want to know more about what He says and how we are to walk closer to Him, read that dusty Bible sitting in a corner somewhere. The Lord wants you back and to be in closer fellowship. If you need prayer, fill out my prayer request form. I’d be happy to pray for you. Have a blessed day!
